BUGS Index - HUI An acronmy for "basket of un-hedged gold stocks," the BUGS index is the AMEX's index measuring gold companies that do not hedge their gold production beyond a year and a half. The HUI, or gold BUGS index, provides investors with the capability of participating in short-term gold price movements as the members who make up the index are un-hedged for long-term durations.
